I have been a member at CG Arena for five years and basically did group classes only. I knew all of the instructors and felt comfortable in most of their classes with few exceptions!
One day I came in and Austin ( new to me ) was subbing my class!
"Who was this guy? I have limitations, will he put his Ego ahead of the workout? He looks like he knows what he is doing, but... “
Those were all the thoughts that immediately came to mind.
How wrong I was! Austin was amazing! He was approachable, knowledgeable, cared, he wanted input, he wanted us to leave knowing that we had “worked”.
He knows his anatomy and explained why we were doing what we were doing , and wasn’t robotic , bored but excited to be teaching!
The Ego thing I mentioned, not in his vocabulary !
I took as many classes after that with Austin that I could to the point of getting up at 5 am for his 6 am class .
The limitation thing that I mentioned, he knew before I asked for modifications, what I could do instead and came to me and watched to see if my form was good. It was personal training in a group setting.
It was because of that I did a short series of personal training with him to help me with my form!
That is Austin the trainer. Austin, the man is one of the nicest young men that I have ever met! I have never seen him as anything but positive, smiling, and 100% genuine! What you see is what you get! He is humble and he is well respected!
I miss him terribly and wish him nothing but happiness and success!
